To converse with the greats by Vera Pavlova first left me quite stumped and clueless. What is she trying to say? I thought to myself. The poem was short and abstruse, making it difficult to analyze its meaning, but that was the point it was making. There isn’t a concrete analysis of this poem, but rather it was ambigious. For me, the poem’s message was saying just that: everything is open to interpretation. “To converse with the greats,” we must correspond, rewrite, and edit. Open your mind. What do you see?
